Myth # 2 - Water Rates

Tom Bigler suggests in his brochure the city will increase water rates by 30 percent, FALSE.

TRUTH: Our water rate increase will be 10 percent, down from an expected 12 percent. Our first major increase in six years. The city’s water rates will remain reasonable, partnered with one of the lowest electric rates in the state.

The City pays Tom to read the water and electric meters. He is in city hall on a frequent basis every month. He could have asked City Administrator Shad Tenpas what our water rate increase would be. Instead, he chose to print the highest number possible to scare and mislead the public.
