Top Priority if Elected - Falls News Q&A (250 words)

If elected, what will be your top priority as mayor during the upcoming two-year term?

Economic- and subdivision development are my top priorities.

At the beginning of my current term, I promised to make economic development my primary focus and you can see the results. The hiring of our first City Administrator, Shad Tenpas, is a key piece of our economic development strategy in Sheboygan Falls. Shad, I and the Council make a great economic team. There is now someone in city hall who works with me on business development. With only 250 words, it is not possible for me to detail all the economic development we have accomplished; visit www.VoteRandyMeyer.com for more information. Here is a brief synopsis:

  • Kwik Trip opened and the entire Plankview Green area is set for development.

  • Metallic Tube Application is building now, Dura-Trel will start in a few months and we have received several inquiries for lots in Vision Park.

  • Hillcrest Builders will break ground on a new subdivision this year. We have five other subdivision locations in mind, one of which I am working on personally.

  • We are starting a revolving loan fund this year, helping businesses expand.

  • We are using Tax Increment Districts responsibly to spur economic development and remain competitive with Plymouth, Sheboygan and other area communities.

None of this could be accomplished without a great team: Al Mayer chairing the Economic Development Committee, City Administrator Shad Tenpas, the Council, The Plan Commission, Chamber-Main Street, Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation, and more make up our team. I ask for your vote to continue leading the team.
