I am pro-life, despite what the phone calls from my opponent try to lead you to believe.

I filled out two questionnaires for Pro-Life Wisconsin and Family Action PAC on which my answers show that I am definitely pro-life. However, I missed filling out the Wisconsin Right to Life questionnaire. By the time I realized that I had missed the questionnaire, they had already endorsed Steve Kestell. In hind sight, I should have still filled out their questionnaire, but I did not and that was my mistake. My opponent has a solid voting record on pro-life issues, which I will continue when elected.

This would have been a great topic for Steve and I to discuss at a debate but Mr. Kestell said “none” to debates. It seems he prefers to make assumptions, rather than listening and discussing.

I would appreciate your vote for Assembly on Tuesday September 14th. Thank you.

News Release
20 July 2010
For immediate release

OPPONENT REFUSES TO DEBATE RANDY MEYER

Randy Meyer, candidate for the Wisconsin District 27 Assembly seat, was turned down when he offered to debate Steve Kestell, who has held the job since 1998. According to Meyer, Kestell said that the number of debates he wants to do is “none” and only friends and relatives show up for debates.

“While it is true that Mr. Kestell and I share many of the same views about Governor Doyle and his programs,” Meyer said, “I believe we have significant differences in leadership style and on some very important issues.” Meyer is currently the mayor of Sheboygan Falls.

Meyer has a degree in finance from UW-Whitewater and currently owns two businesses, RM College Resources and Meeting Planner Supplies. In 2005, he was voted one of the ‘Ten Outstanding Young Americans’ by the U.S. Jaycees. In 2006, he was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.

“I think debates are a convenient way for voters to learn about candidates for public office;” Meyer stated. “I sincerely hope that Steve Kestell changes his mind and accepts my invitation to engage in at least two debates.”

This is the final Installment of my guiding principles. The discovery process of identifying and writing my guiding principles was powerful and amazing. I am so happy that I made time to take the Leadership In Life Institute. It was a six month commitment, that was well worth it.

8. Set goals: I will continue to practice the magic art of goal setting, reviewing goals, and celebrating accomplished goals.

9. Positive attitude: I am responsible for my attitude and outlook. Therefore, I choose to maintain a positive attitude and mindset. I recognize that setbacks are temporary and have positive lessons attached, if I am only willing to look for them.

10. Love my family: Show unconditional love for my family, recognizing that I am not perfect. Therefore, I cannot expect my family to be perfect at all times, but I can show them that I love them at all times.

11. Grow in my faith in God: Faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life. There is a greater spiritual power that guides us.

12.	Time balance: Seek a long-term balance of work, family, community involvement, and leisure.

My goal is to bring a new vision and leadership to Wisconsin. With your help, we will achieve this goal. Check out www.voterandymeyer.com, find me on Facebook or Twitter, and continue to read my blog.

I am asking for your vote in the Republican primary on September14th. I want to represent you in the Wisconsin State Assembly for District 27. Thank you for your consideration.

If you would like to help me in my election efforts or be listed as a supporter, please send me an email at randymeyer@charter.net or visit www.voterandymeyer.com and fill out my volunteer form.

We’re number one! That feels good to say, let me explain. My campaign team was the first one in the state of Wisconsin to turn in the required signatures to get onto the ballot.

That’s right, out of 99 Assembly Districts, 33 State Senate Districts, and all other state offices, the Friends of Randy Meyer team was the first one to gather and turn in the required signatures to be listed on this year’s ballot. Tammy and I drove to Madison on the morning of Monday, June 7th and handed the signatures to the Government Accountability Board.

First, I want to thank my team; Mark Schuessler, Fay and Art Risse, Ann Krauter, Lois Meyer, Wayne Freund, Cheryl Lichtenberg, Carl Paul, June O’hearn, and Tammy Meyer. My goal was to get these signatures in by June 7th and your hard work and dedication made it possible. It is just nice to know that we were first in the state.

Second, thank you to those of you who signed my nomination papers and to the many more who would have signed if asked. It is all of your support and votes that will make this campaign ultimately successful.

My goal is to bring a new vision and leadership to Wisconsin. With all of your help, we will achieve this goal as well. Check out www.voterandymeyer.com, find me on Facebook or Twitter, and continue to read my blog.

I will continue to share my guiding principles with you. These guiding principles were written during a Leadership in Life Institute I participated in. However, I was practicing these long before the class I took. The leadership class and my classmates, helped make the words to describe my guiding principles emerge on to paper. Here are guiding principles 4-7.

4. Seek to understand others: I will step into other people’s shoes and look at the issue from their point of view. This doesn’t mean I will ultimately agree with them, but I will always endeavor to understand their point of view.

5. Extraordinary expectation: I will set the bar of expectation high for myself, knowing that failure only happens when you have no end goal or accomplishment in mind.

6. Treat Change as a positive: I will treat change as a positive force, while recognizing that change can involve short-term temporary pain, but leads to long-term breakthroughs. I must adapt to the world, I cannot expect the world to adapt to me.

7. Contribute through a circle of interdependence: Recognize that the best accomplishments help and reward many, not just you. Always give thanks to those who played a part in your achievements, great and small. Without the help of others, most of my accomplishments would be small and of little consequence.

If you want to see my first three guiding principles, please read my previous post. Check out www.voterandymeyer.com, find me on Facebook or Twitter, and continue to read my blog.

I participated in a leadership class called, Leadership in Life Institute four years ago. I enjoyed the class so much, I moderated the next leadership class. These six month leadership courses were excellent. During the leadership training I identified 11 guiding principles. These guiding principles are core values that I base my life on. Over the next few posts I will share them with you. Here are the first three.

1. Integrity: Do what I say I will do, when I say I will do it. I will not be afraid to say no, if I can’t make it a priority to accomplish in a reasonable time.

2. Honesty: Be truthful and honest in all of my dealings, but temper my honesty with tactfulness and compassion. I can be honest without being mean. Discuss the idea or topic, not the person or personalities behind the idea.

3. Learning: I will always continue to study, learn, grow by reading books, meeting new people, and listening to new ideas. I will challenge myself by not only reading books I agree with, but also reading some that I do not agree with.

Hello, welcome to the vote Randy Meyer for Wisconsin State Assembly Blog. I am a Republican candidate in Assembly District 27. I am the current Mayor of Sheboygan Falls, a position I have held for over six years. I am challenging a 12 year incumbent in the Republican primary on September 14.

You might ask yourself, why am I challenging a fellow Republican in a primary?

The simple one word answer is leadership. I want to bring local common sense leadership to Madison. Something I believe Madison has been in short supply of for years.

Sending the same people to Madison year after year and election after election and expecting an improved or different result fits my definition of insanity. “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.”

I am asking for the opportunity to bring new energy, a positive attitude, and true leadership to Wisconsin Government. My goal is to be successfully elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly this year. I want to earn your vote.

In my future blog posts I will communicate my guiding principles, positions on the issues, my philosophy, and why you should vote for me. Check out www.voterandymeyer.com, find me on facebook, and continue to read my blog.
